Prom Worthy Makeup !

Here are a few tips for prom worthy makeup !

Tip #1:
Pick your eyes OR mouth !
When putting on makeup, people make the mistake and highlight both the eyes and mouth. You need to pick one or the other and downplay what you didn't choose.

Tip #2:
Perfect your skin tone !
Perfecting your skin tone can be more important than eye makeup. The secret is to make it appear like you're wearing hardly any makeup. Only apply foundation on the areas of skin that are discolored or have blemishes (usually the forehead, cheeks and chin).

Tip #3:
When in doubt, mimic a celebrity !
A good trick for those who are overwhelmed with hair and makeup choices is to mimic a celebrity look.

Tip #4:
Three things to remember when taking pictures !
1. Apply liner and lipstick WITH A MIRROR before you pose.
2. Powder your oily areas (forehead, chin and nose) immediately before the picture.
3. Strike a flattering pose.

Tip #5:
What to bring in your purse !
Every purse needs blotting papers, lipstick or gloss, powder, breathmints and a small bottle of hairspray.

And one last thing; a happy, fun attitude is your biggest beauty weapon !

Prom Perfect Nails !

The most glamorous night calls for glamorous nails..

After you've picked out your dress and shoes, you now need a manicure to fit the occasion and colors.

Classic French Manicure
-French manicure for prom is now and always has been a perfect choice. It looks pretty, sophisticated and posh.

Gel Nails
-If you don't have long nails, gel nails is a great choice for you, salon's can add tips to your nails for added length.

Nail Polish
-If you didn't want to spend a lot of money, then you can paint your own nails and personalize them with lot's of creative designs.

Choosing the right shoe !

Before you rush off to the store to choose the perfect prom shoe, consider these 5 steps;

1) Consider Your Dress
- Your dress should play a big role in your decision of which pair of shoes to buy. It's usually a good idea to get less glamorous shoes for dresses that have a lot of flashiness or detail, and eye-catching or elaborate shoes for plainer dresses.

2) Dress Length and Shoe Style
- If you are wearing a floor-length dress, you have to consider the fact that your shoes aren't going to be visable. Flats or ballet shoes are a great choice for long dresses because you don't have to worry about the extra height from heels throwing off the proper length of your dress. If your dress is short, strapped sandals or high heels are a better choice.

3) Color
- The color of the sheos you pick is important, but don't let it stress you out, it's not necessary for the shoes to match your dress exactly. Work to find complementary colors or a shoe color that is slightly darker then the dress. Neutral colors also work well; gold, silver or white for lighter dresses, and black or gray for darker dresses. If you find a shoe you like but it doesn't match your dress, it's okay as long as it doesn't clash.

4) Comfort
- Comfort should be key when it comes to picking prom shoes. You are going to be dancing and standing all night, so it's important to pick shoes in which you can move around easily. It doesn't matter how gorgeous your shoes are if you're in pain with each step.

5) Heels
- High heels are a common choice for prom, but before you choose, stop to consider your history in heels. Do you wear them often, or will prom be your first time in them? If you're not a heel veteran, it might be smarter to choose a shoe with a lesser heel so you're comfortable. Wedges are a good substitute between the height of heels and the comfort of flats. You also need to consider the height of your date.

6) Bucking Tradition
- Don't be afraid to choose sheos that you will love, even if they're not what everyone would consider popular. Flip-flops, jelly sandals, boots, even tennis shoes- if you feel great in them, you should go for them. Other girls might give you weird looks, but those are probably the same girls whose feet will be killing them by the end of the night.

5 Things to know before choosing your prom hair !

5 things to consider when choosing your perfect prom hair;

1.       Does your hair hold a curl from a hot iron?
It is alright if it eventually falls out when you do it yourself, a professional will have the right arsenal of products to keep your curls last long throughout the night. If it never holds a curl, decide on a style that is swept up or works with straight or wavy textures.
2.       What’s the weather going to be like?
Hot and humid? Cool and dry? Some combination of these? If your hair likes to frizz, choosing a sleek style when there’s an 80% chance of rain may not make for happy hair.
3.       What is the neckline of your dress?
Wearing a strapless gown and your hair up may make you look/feel too bare while a half up style may be more comfortable. If your dress has beading on a higher neckline (halter) wearing your hair down or half up could result in tangles to your hair and dress, so wearing your hair up in a sleek style would be the best option.
4.       What makes you comfortable?
Some may be comfortable with some hair left loose around the face while others shine in sleeked back styles. Being confident makes your night more enjoyable and lets you enjoy the night dancing with friends and not fussing with loose strands.
5.       Have your heart set on a fun hair accessory?
Make sure the style you pick has room for it! Fun flower clips, sparkly headbands or fun hairpins are all trendy options.

Picking the Perfect Dress !

To attend Prom, you first need to find the perfect prom dress. Many girls have different different body types and there are different styles for different types.

If you are;

Pear Shaped- prom dresses with fitted tops and full or a-line skirts are recommended.

Slender - with a slim figure the illusion of curves can be acheived by drawing attention to your bust line or a prom dress that bells out or a dress that draws attention to your waist.

Busty - You can play up what you have by choosing from prom dresses with a gorgeous neckline; but look for prom dresses with fuller coverage so you can make sure you have adequate support. If you would like to draw attention away from your chest; look for prom dresses that attracts the eye to the hem.

Petite - show a little leg and go with an asymmetrical hemline or a long fitted solid prom dress to make you appear taller. Floor lengthball gowns tend to overwhelm your frame. Long ruffles can also add the illusion of height

Hourglass - You have a naturally well propotioned body with means you don't need to disguise any thing. Almost every style prom dress will flatter your figure. Have fun with it!

Apple - For an apple shaped body prom dresses with an empire waist will help draw attention from your middle. Also a higher waist line means the prom dress may not be as tight in your problem area. If you have nice athletic legs, you might try to show them off by looking at shorter prom dresses.
